GREENVILLE, S.C. — Beginning this Friday, Greenville County deputies will be featured on A&E network's "Live PD" television show, according to a media release from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
"Live PD" offers viewers an unscreened and unfiltered look inside the country’s busiest police forces, and this spring the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is one of the featured agencies.
The new documentary series uses dash cams along with fixed rig and handheld cameras to apture the work of a varied mix of urban and rural police forces around the country on a typical Friday night.
In addition to the live coverage, ABC's Dan Abrams, alongside Dallas Police Department Detectives Rich Emberlin and Kevin Jackson, will guide viewers through their viewing experience by providing insight to what the audiences are watching.
Greenville County Sheriff Will Lewis said he was thrilled about the series feature and sees it as a groundbreaking opportunity for the public to see what really goes on in the eyes of law enforcement and what our deputies encounter during their day to day operations.
"This is an opportunity for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office to fulfill our obligation of transparency,” Lewis said.
