Devildogs fall to Pickens

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The Travelers Rest Devildogs varsity football team hosted Pickens on Friday night for the final home game of the season. The senior fall sports athletes were recognized in a pre-game ceremony. Kelsey White-Kennedy, a 2017 graduate, was presented her State Championship ring at half-time.

Pickens took the opening kickoff and put together a drive to take a 7-0 lead with 8:10 left in the first quarter. They would never trail, picking up two scores in the second quarter to lead 21-0 at the half. They added a touchdown and a field goal in the third quarter and led 31-0 going into the final quarter.

The Devildogs had their best chance to score in the final minutes, but an incomplete pass in the end zone on fourth and goal from the two ended the threat. Pickens ran out the clock to claim the 31-0 victory.

The Devildogs will finish the regular season next week at Union County. The JV Devildogs will host Union County on Thursday night for their final game of the season.
