TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – J. Michael King will close out the first season of the Greater Travelers Rest Chamber of Commerce Main Street Concert Series at the Gazebo on Thursday, Sept. 26.
King, who started playing in 1966 and became a full-time musician in 1973, has absorbed many influences and mastered many styles, mainly blues and R&B. He's played guitar backing such artists as Billy Joe Royal, Chuck Jackson and Eddie Kirkland, and he's currently indulging himself in the study and playing of the East Coast guitar style known as the Piedmont blues.
The free concert will take place at the gazebo on Main Street in downtown Travelers Rest from 6 - 8 p.m.
