Slater-Marietta Elementary students Brianna Sullivan, Grayson Morris and Mary Morton proudly share their construction figures.Future architects of America

The four-year-old kindergarten students have been exploring their design and architectural interest! Students created marshmallow and toothpick structures as part of a construction unit. It is never too young to lay the seeds that may someday create the next Frank Lloyd Wright.

Local author visits third grade students

Local resident and author, Debbie Stewart, visited third grade students at Slater-Marietta Elementary. She read a chapter from her book, “The Adventures of the Valley Dogs.” The Valley Dogs have super powers and the book tells stories of their adventures in and around The Cliffs Valley properties. This was Stewart’s first book and was special because her daughter-in-law did the illustrations. Stewart’s goal is to inspire students to become authors and illustrators.
