James Robert Coleman - Travelers Rest
James Robert Coleman, 87, of Travelers Rest, widower of Beatrice Looper Coleman went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.
Mr. Coleman was born December 12, 1923, the son of the late John Webster and Olive Adelia Robinson Coleman. He was a sergeant in US Army during World War II, he attended Furman University and he was the former Postmaster of Travelers Rest.
He is survived by his son, Robert J. Coleman and wife Donna; Grandson Adrian A. Smith (Holly), granddaughter Dawn M. Brenneman (Keith); great granddaughters Brook Madison Smith & Mackenzie Lauren Smith whom he loved and adored; a sister Frances Farr Reese; a special sister-in-law Inez Crabtree (John), a special niece Jan Crabtree Shook and a sister-in-law, Lamar Looper.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen Coleman.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Grand View Memorial Gardens.
The family is grateful for the lifetime of care provided by Dr. Stanley Coleman of T.R. Family Practice and staff, Dr. Kevin Kopera and staff of Roger C. Peace, Dr. David Goetz of University Medical Group, Greenville Glen Assisted Living and Vista Care Hospice.
The family will be at their respective homes.
