Jack Pierce, 70 - Marietta

Jack Pierce, 70, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late B.H. and Florida Cox Pierce. Since the age of 16, Jack loved flying in both the private and corporate world. Other interests included building, history, travel, good stories, Cajun culture and horses. Jack's various interests became a major inspiration to his son's and grand children's lives. He served as a deacon at Marietta First Baptist Church, was a member of The Lions Club and in 2002 he was appointed as a Greenville County Magistrate of Travelers Rest.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Foster Pierce; 3 sons: Douglas (Kim) Pierce of Slater, Darryl (Amy) Pierce of Jefferson, SC and Daniel (Ginny) Pierce of Slater; brother: George (Edna) Pierce of Walterboro, SC; 4 grandchildren: Benjamin of Charlotte, NC, Amanda of Prosperity, SC, Markus of Jefferson, SC and Lindsay of Jefferson, SC. A special thanks to Olivia and our friends at Compassus Hospice, Robbie, Heather and Nickie.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

A graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grand View Memorial Gardens.
