Travelers Rest Farmers Market receives revitalization award

GREENVILLE, S.C. – At a luncheon held recently in Greenville, the Travelers Rest Farmers Market was recognized by the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors for their work in the local community.

The market was named as a recipient of one of six Revitalization Awards presented to individuals or groups that took a chance by investing a “substantial” amount of time and/or money into a property in the Greenville area.

The market, which was started in 2008 by Sandra Stroud, Margie Vest, Kelly Gilkerson and Bo Terry, received the 2014 Honorable Mention award. From its beginnings behind Sunrift Adventures, the market – now located at Trailblazer Park – has grown into one of the largest of its kind in the Upstate, with around 50 vendors each market Saturday.
