Robert Fulton “R.F.” Pitman, 81 - Travelers Rest
Robert Fulton “R.F.” Pitman, 81, of Travelers Rest, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at his home.
Born in Duncan, SC, he was a son of the late Robert Fulton and Grace Stevenson Pitman Sr. Mr. Pitman was a member of the Masonic Recovery Lodge #31, and a member of Northwest Baptist Church. He also loved to fish. He was a member of Poisette Bass Master Club for years. He worked for Bahan Textile for many years and Tanner Chemicals until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-two years, Harriette Caldwell Pitman; one daughter: Diane Evatt (Danny); three sons: Donny Pitman (Myra), Tommy Pitman (Charlene), and Randy Pitman (Genine); six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one step grandchild; one brother: Ken Pitman; and four sisters: Evelyn Crumley, Ellen Finley, Avis Jones, and Ann Phillips.
R.F was a loving husband to his wife Harriette Caldwell Pitman for sixty-two years. He also loved his children very much. He loved his grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step-grandchildren very much too. They were all the pride and joy of his life.
R.F. started singing as a Music Director at Hatch memorial Baptist Church, Clearview Baptist Church for thirty years. He also lead music at Shilo Baptist Church, and the at Northwest Baptist church for the past twenty-seven years, where he was a member.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Northwest Baptist Church with entombment to follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home.
