Sheriff's Office seeks assistance in ATM thefts
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in helping to identify suspects in a string of recent ATM thefts in northern Greenville County.
Since Nov. 24, the Sheriff’s Office has received eight different reports involving the theft or attempted theft of ATM machines. In all of the cases, the suspects are breaking the front glass of the store and pulling the ATM machines out with a truck, which investigators describe as a 2004-2006 white, double cab Toyota Tundra.
The stores that actually had their ATM machine stolen were:
• Sandy Flat Grocery, 5100 Mountain View Road in Taylors
• W.E. Willis Gas Station, 5800 Mountain View Road in Taylors
• Taylors Food Mart, 1075 Reid School Road in Taylors
• TD’s Express Mart, 430 Groce Meadow Road in Taylors
On Thursday morning, two of the recently stolen ATM machines were found along State Park Road near Travelers Rest, deputies said.
