William "Billy" Batson, 42 - Greenville

William "Billy" Batson, 42, husband of Cristin Wilbanks Batson, died Friday, January 9, 2015.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of David and Dianne Jewell Batson. He was a member of Brookwood Church and a graduate of Travelers Rest High School. After graduation, he followed in his dad's footsteps by working in the electrical construction industry.

To know Billy was to love him. His quick wit, kindness, and concern for others, especially his family, made him a very special person. He was an exceptionally proud father who loved his daughter, Macie, more than anything in the world. Billy was very creative and one who could always fix what was broken. To do that, he had at least two of every tool that was ever invented! His favorite pastime was catching a snooze.

In addition to his wife, Cristin, daughter, Macie, and his parents, he is survived by a brother, Chip and his wife, Jackie; nephews Miles Batson and Mason Baird; Aunt Martha Sprouse; Uncle Bill Jewell; Aunt Shirley Batson; and eight very close, loving cousins; Scott Sprouse, Jennifer Sprouse Thompson, Ginger Jewell Blagg, Dionne Jewell DuCote, Michael DuCote, Crystal DuCote, Johnny Batson, Frankie Batson; and a host of wonderful friends.

He was predeceased by cousins Tina Jewell DuCote and Randy Batson; and three uncles, Wilton Batson, Jimmy Batson, and Ken Sprouse.

The memorial service will be held at Brookwood Church in Simpsonville on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 3:00 pm with visitation immediately following the service.
