Retired teacher killed in northern Greenville County wreck
TAYLORS, S.C. – A 73-year-old, retired high school teacher from Travelers Rest was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in northern Greenville County Tuesday afternoon, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
Coroner B. Parks Evans said Michael Houston Farmer was traveling north on Mountain View Road around 1 p.m. when his Toyota pickup left the roadway near the intersection of Groce Meadow Road and struck a tree.
Evans said Farmer, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, died at the scene.
Farmer was a retired Greenville County high school science teacher.
The wreck is being investigated by the S.C. Highway Patrol and the coroner's office.
