Gaston Burrel Cox, 86 - Travelers Rest

Gaston Burrel Cox, 86, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at his home.

Born on August 30, 1928, in Travelers Rest, he was the son of the late Roy and Louise Johnson Cox and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Cox was retired from Forrest Oil Company, where he worked for over 35 years, and he enjoyed the outdoors and serving as his son’s crew chief in racing.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years Zinnia Pace Cox; 3 children, Joel Cox, Judy Babb and Jerry Cox; 2 grandchildren, Kristina Lucas (Tim) and Kayla Babb and 3 great-grandchildren, Caleb Lucas, Chloe Lucas and Caelyn Lucas.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery in Saluda, N.C.

The family will be at the home of Jerry Cox.
