Marie Hagan, 83 - Travelers Rest
Marie Hagan, 83, of Travelers Rest, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, Feb. 25, at her home.
Born in Madison County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late James B. and Ethel Ridley Hagan. She received her degree in Christian Education from Lee college, now Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn.; was the children's ministry leader at Park Place Church and later director of the Young at Heart at Travelers Rest Church of God for 15 years; was retired from textiles and home health work; and was a member of Travelers Rest Church of God.
She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friend and caregiver for over 30 years, Jerry Hawkins.
Along with her parents she was predeceased by her sisters; Mabel Center, Lucille Hagan, and Mildred Allen.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until 11 am at The Howze Mortuary.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will be at their respective homes.
The family would like to thank the staff of Open Arms Hospice for the love and care of Marie, her nurse, Cindy; Chaplain Joe Farry; aid, Maria; volunteer, Sue Burton; and caregiver, Sharon Soto. And a thank you to the Meal's on Wheels volunteers who were an important part of her life.
