Nelson Farr Looper, 76, of Travelers Rest, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, at his home.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Leon N. and Jennie Farr Looper. He was retired from West-Pointe Stevens and Spring Industries, Army Ranger veteran of the Berlin Crisis and a member of the S. C. National Guard in the 111th Signal Corp, past member of Cooper Lodge 282, former coach of T. R. Youth Football, and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ables Looper; daughter: Cheryl Waldrop; granddaughter: Lillian Waldrop; nephews: Billy Looper and Robert Looper.
Along with his parents he was predeceased by a brother, William F. Looper.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am Tuesday at The Howze Mortuary.
Funeral services will be at 11 am at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with entombment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park
