Annual Colors 4 Hope benefit 5K at Trailblazer Park
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Mental Health America of Greenville County will hold the third annual Colors 4 Hope 5K in Travelers Rest on Sat., March 21, 2015. The run will begin and end at Trailblazer Park, located along the Swamp Rabbit Trail at the site of the former Travelers Rest High School.
MHAGC hosts the event as a way to raise awareness for mental illness and to raise money for the agency’s programs geared toward promoting positive mental health in Greenville County.
The fun run combines runners with joggers and walkers as they run through color splash points along the route.
“It’s a fun way for us to remove the stigma from Mental Illness,” remarked Eric Wall, vice president of marketing for Bank of Travelers Rest and the agency’s board chair. “So many people suffer in silence. Whether it’s situational depression or chronic mental illness, we want Greenville County to know the resources that exist to help them truly be well.”
