Grandmother, 2 children escape injury in mobile home fire

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. – No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a mobile home in northern Greenville County Wednesday morning, according to Glassy Mountain Fire Dept. PIO Jarrod Parker.

Glassy Mountain firefighters responded to the home on Hwy. 912 (Old State Hwy. 11) around 7:10 a.m., finding the structure fully involved on their arrival.

Parker said the resident was able to get herself and two grand-children out of the home after noticing the curtains near a space heater were on fire.

No injuries were reported according to Parker, who added that the Red Cross is assisting the family.

Glassy Mountain Fire Dept. is investigating.
