Linda Styles Garland, 73 - Travelers Rest

Linda Styles Garland, 73, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015.

Born in Travelers Rest, she was a daughter of Flora Batson Styles and the late Homer Styles. Mrs. Garland was a homemaker, and a member of Marietta First Baptist Church for fifty-three years. She was a charter member of the Travelers Rest Womans Club which was organized in 1966, and the first meeting was held in her home. She was honored in 2005 as the Travelers Rest Area Business Association “Citizen Of The Year” and was a volunteer in her church and community.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-four years, Kenneth S. Garland; one son: Kenneth Todd Garland (Jennifer); one daughter: Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Garland; one sister: Ann Burgess (Joel); three grandsons: Michael Garland, Reginald Webb, and Harper Garland; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Marietta First Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Coleman Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.
