Travelers Rest man found hours after deadly motorcycle crash

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – A 53-year-old Travelers Rest man was killed in a motorcycle crash that was found hours after the incident occurred, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

Coroner J. Parks Evans, said he believes Benny Holden Jr. crashed his Harley Davidson motorcycle on Locust Hill Road near Mush Creek Road around 1:30 Sunday morning.

There were no witnesses to the wreck, which was discovered around 12:20 p.m. Sunday by a neighbor that lives nearby.

Evans said Holden, who was wearing a helmet, was traveling in the direction of U.S. Hwy. 25 when he went off the left shoulder of the road, traveling down an embankment into a wooded area.

Holden was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
