Multiple departments respond to 'suspicious' fire in northern Greenville County
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — Multiple fire departments responded to a structure fire in northern Greenville County on Wednesday.
The fire was reported on Gap Creek Road, just off Highway. 25 around 11 a.m.
Firefighters from River Falls, Slater-Marietta and Glassy Mountain fire departments battled the blaze in the structure, which officials said was abandoned.
According to Glassy Mountain FD PIO Jarrod Parker, the cause of the fire is "suspicious."
EMS workers also responded to the scene, where at least one firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion.
The building is a total loss.
