Jarrod Steven Parker, 30 - Piedmont
Jarrod Steven Parker, 30, of Piedmont, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at his home.
Born in Oconee County, SC he was a son of James A. Parker and the late Hannah Marie Foster.
Jarrod at age 14 joined the Greenville County Explorer Program where he was Past President and Explorer of the Year of the group; he was a member of the Boy Scouts and at age 15 he was in charge of Emergency Preparedness at Camp Old Indian summer camp and he also assisted the paramedics at the camp; he was a graduate of Wren High School where he was President of SADD; he was a past assistant Youth Director at Crossroads Community Church; he received a certificate from Resesitation Safe for the Cardiac Survivor Service Ceremony; he has a Chapter in the Book “Crisis” he wrote; he was the Public Information Officer at Glassy Mountain Fire Department; he was the Upstate FEMA Advanced PIO; he had his Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification; he volunteered at the Tigerville Fire Department and the Taylors Fire Department; he worked at Med Trans Company, he was a Part Time EMS Dispatcher for Greenville County and was an Emergency Dispatcher with the SC Highway Patrol.
Surviving in addition to his father is his step-mother, Elke Kennedy; a brother, James Christopher Parker; step-sister, Dawn Kennedy; step-brother, John Kennedy, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Bill & Carolyn Foster of Piedmont; his paternal grandfather Joe Parker and his wife Carolyn Wilson; 4 uncles, John Parker, Jeff Parker, Jason Parker and Phillip Foster and his niece, Lillian Grace Parker.
In addition to his mother he was predeceased by his grandmother, Linda Huff Parker, a step brother, Sean Kennedy and an Uncle Joey Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock on Tuesday, June 9 at The Anderson Civic Center with burial to follow at Shiloh U.M.C. Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening at The Anderson Civic Center from 5 until 8:30 PM.
