Travelers Rest police seek public's help in identifying armed robbery suspects

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Travelers Rest police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying two suspects they say are responsible for two recent armed robberies.

On Thursday, June 18 around 11:50 p.m., two white men wearing black clothes and ski masks (pictured here) entered the W.E. Willis #2 convenience store on N. Poinsett Hwy., robbing the clerk inside at gunpoint.

According to Chief Lance Crowe, police chased one of the men on foot after he was seen running down Hart Street, but the suspect eluded officers by running into the nearby woods.

Investigators believe the two men also robbed the Rest Stop convenience store on N. Main Street on June 3. In that incident, police say the suspects were armed with handguns and approached the clerk while she was outside the store.

Anyone with information is asked to call Travelers Rest police at 864.834.9029.
