Myrtle Elizabeth (Morrison) McGriff, 98, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Rock Hill, SC.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Quay Anderson and Nancy Loretta Jones Morrison. She retired from the United States Post Office in Travelers Rest and was a member of the Gold Star Wives Association. She was a member of Travelers Rest United Methodist Church and attended Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Rock Hill.
Surviving are her daughters: Maxine (Jim) Smith of Rock Hill and Marilyn (Fred) Dyal of Travelers Rest; grandchildren: James Nathan White, Greg Smith, Andrea (David) Powell and Charlotte Dyal; great-grandchildren: Ethan and Riley Powell. Myrtle was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Along with her parents, Myrtle was predeceased by her husband, Master Seargent Grover Jefferson McGriff, Jr who is currently still MIA from the Korean War; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10 until 11 a.m. at Travelers Rest United Methodist Church. Funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
