Travelers Rest Police Dept. adds officer

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. – The Travelers Rest Police Dept. has added a new officer to its ranks.

Officer Ben Sambrano comes from the Greenville Police Dept., where he was assigned as the lone officer on the largest and busiest beat in the city.

In 2013, Sambrano was recognized with the Greenville Police Department's recruit of the year award, and in 2014 he was honored with the agency's distinguished life saving award.

Sambrano joined the Greenville Police Dept. after retiring from a career in the Coast Guard.
