Glassy Mountain FD captain attains international designation

LANDRUM, S.C. — Glassy Mountain Fire Dept. Captain David Hindman was recently recognized by the Center for Public Safety Excellence as a designated fire officer.

With the designation by the CPSEs Commission on Professional Credentialing, Hindman joins a group of approximately 300 individuals worldwide designated at this level.

Achieving the designation requires a strong educational background; diverse participation in emergency services at the local, state and national level; and demonstrated involvement in the broader community.

Review is validated by peers, with the conferring eleven-member commission consisting of individuals from the emergency services profession, federal and local government, and academia.

The commission unanimously voted to award Hindman the designation.
