Travelers Rest business recognizes community members with 'Awards of Excellence'

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — At last week's Travelers Rest City Council meeting, Cheryl and Steve Kraus of Upcountry Provisions Bakery and Bistro recognized several local community members and leaders, presenting each with an Award of Excellence in what has become an annual tradition for the restaurant.

The couple feels compelled to recognize their staff and other community leaders because of the tremendous growth and success their business and the city has experienced over the past several years.

“Our success as a small business in TR is largely a result of the hard work of so many community members, organizations and visionaries,” Cheryl said.

Recognized on Thursday were Christiana Davis and Jaimee Park, employees of Upcountry Provisions; Ty Houck and Colin Young of Greenville Country Recreation; Greenville County Council Members Willis Meadows and Joe Dill; Brandy Amidon and Bess McCall of Keep Travelers Rest Beautiful; and Chef Pat Wagner and Chef Alan Scheidhauer of the Greenville Technical College Culinary Institute of the Carolinas.

“We love our local community, and specifically appreciate their vision for and investment in northern Greenville County over the past many years," Cheryl commented. "We believe that these organizations and individuals have played a fundamental role in the increase in TR foodie culture and overall community.”
