City officials presented with Municipal Association 'Achievement' trophy
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — City of Travelers Rest officials were on Thursday presented with a Municipal Assoc. of S.C. trophy, recognition for the Achievement Award that they recently received for their work at Trailblazer Park.
The trophy was presented at the August city council meeting by Jeff Shacker, field services manager for the Association.
A total of twenty-nine cities and towns submitted their projects to be judged for the group's annual Achievement Awards. Announced in July, Travelers Rest won in the 1,001 – 5,000 population category.
"Trailblazer Park is a great example of local officials increasing the quality of life in an already great town," Miriam Hair, executive director for the Municipal Association, said at the time.
The Municipal Association of South Carolina initiated the Achievement Awards in 1987 to recognize and encourage innovations and excellence in local government.
