Jesse Monroe Blackwell, 91 - Travelers Rest,

Jesse Monroe Blackwell, 91, of Travelers Rest, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Darlington, SC, he was a son of the late Forrester Blackwell and Edith Ann Sports Blackwell Bayne. Mr. Blackwell served in the US Army Infantry Division during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a member of Forestville Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters: Sharon Spence (Steve), of Greenville, and Susan West (Jon), of Toccoa, GA; one sister: Alene Edwards; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers: David Blackwell, and James Blackwell; and two sisters: Louise Garren, and Alice Haynie.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Mountain View Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until Noon Friday morning at The Howze Mortuary.
