Mary Madgelean "Mimi" Thompson, 84 - Travelers Rest

Mary Madgelean "Mimi" Thompson, 84, of Travelers Rest went, home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Hope, Health & Rehab of Marietta.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Bryson E. and Mary Elizabeth Wooten Thompson. Ms. Thompson was retired from the Insurance Business and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

She is survived by four nieces, Kay Knox of Slater, Kathy D. Grant (Bud) of Easley, Kim K. Pierce (Doug) of Slater and Sandra D. Cross (Stan) of Salisbury, NC; two nephews, Gary Duncan (Beth) of Seneca and David Duncan (Shirley) of Macon, GA and many loving great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Thompson was predeceased by her six sisters, Grace T. Duncan, Martha T. Knox, Janet T. Dendy, Ruth Thompson, Nora Stevens, Clara King and two nephews, Avery Duncan, Jr. & Michael A. Dendy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at The Howze Mortuary Chapel. A Private Family Burial will take place on Monday.

The family will be at their respective homes.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of Marietta Hope, Health and Rehab for the special care they gave Ms. Thompson during her time with them.
