Funeral arrangements set for firefighter killed in wrong-way wreck

Jordan Barry Howard, 30 of River Falls went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of James Barry and Melinda Tolley Howard. Jordan was a 2003 graduate of Travelers Rest High School and the S.C. State Fire Academy. He was a Lieutenant with the North Greenville Fire Department having served since 2007 and a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, Jordan is survived by his wife of 3 years, Amber Childs Howard; daughter: Aubree Nicole Howard; sister: Jessica (Joseph) Bridges; nieces: Bethany and Caroline Bridges; maternal grandmother: Linda Swords Clark and maternal grandfather: William Curtis (Kathy) Tolley; paternal grandmother: Betty Barry Howard; father-in-law: Gregory Childs; mother-in-law: Angela Masters Childs along with all his Brothers at The North Greenville Fire Department.

Jordan was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Benjamin G. Howard.

A visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary in Travelers Rest.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Marietta First Baptist Church, located at 2936 Geer Hwy.

Burial will be at the Howard family cemetery.
