Harvest Market Spotlight: Pasta sauce done right!
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — If you were at the Travelers Rest Farmers Market this year, you more than likely met Robin Millington of Culinary Food Concepts. And if you did, it's even more likely that you've sampled several of her items and that you've developed a newfound respect for pasta sauce!
Robin is no stranger to cooking, fresh produce, or the farm scene. Growing up in Upstate, New York, her family lived on a farm and owned a restaurant near the Saratoga Thoroughbred Race Track. The restaurant's specialties were homemade pasta sauces and bread, so Robin has had ample time to perfect her craft.
Robin moved to Florida for college but didn't leave behind her love for fresh food. She worked at farmers markets and restaurants in Florida during school, and has a wide range of experience in the food industry: she's owned her own restaurant in Spartanburg, done TV spots for Carolina Kitchen, catered for bigwigs like Paula Dean and Montgomery Gentry, and worked for large food corporations like Sara Lee.
A fan favorite at the market because she always greets you with a smile, it's obvious Robin's passion extends beyond food and to ensuring the customer has the best possible experience. Culinary Food Concepts will be one of the vendors at this season's Harvest Market on Thursday nights in October. She'll sell her freshly made sauces prepared with local farmers ingredients, including roasted red pepper butternut Alfredo, roasted red pepper Alfredo, butternut Alfredo, vegan butternut Alfredo, kale pesto, and Kale Alfredo. You can also find black lentil potato burgers, falafel burger, and black bean butternut burgers.
