Travelers Rest Garden Club holds first meeting of 2015-16 year
GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Travelers Rest Garden Club held its first meeting of the 2015-2016 club year at the Kilgore-Lewis House in Greenville on Sept. 17.
Following an agenda consisting of beginning of the year organizational business, a Welcome Back Tea Social was enjoyed by club members and their invited friends.
Hostesses were club members: Betty Galligher, president; Tish Alford, vice president; Carol White, secretary; and Rubie Tisdale, treasurer.
The club meets the third Thursday of each month – September through May. Meeting locations change each month.
The October 15 program is entitled “Disease Resistant Roses,” presented by Sheree Wright, senior grounds keeper at Furman University.
The club theme for this year is: “A garden is a friend you can visit anytime.”
