Easley woman killed in Hwy. 25 wreck

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — An Easley woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 25 just north of Travelers Rest on Thursday morning.

The Greenville County Coroner's Office said 71-year-old Irene Owen died at the scene of the wreck, which happened around 10:20 a.m. near the intersection of North Speer Road.

According to troopers, Owen was a passenger in a four-door Toyota car that was struck by a pickup truck. The Toyota then hit a third vehicle that was stopped at the time of the wreck.

The drivers of all three vehicles and a passenger in the same vehicle as Owen were injured, troopers said, including one that was airlifted to the hospital.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating.
