Bertha Lackey Merrell, 70 - Travelers Rest

Bertha Lackey Merrell, 70, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare East in Greenville.

Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Enlo and Virginia Keesee Lackey. Bertha did secretarial work most of her life and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

Surviving is her daughter: Traci Merrell (Jim) Harrison; sister: Shirley Lackey (Gene) Arrowood; grandchildren: Kelci and Cody Harrison; sister-in-law: Kathy Lackey; step-sister: Lynn (Larry) Lockaby; Traci’s father, Bob Merrell and many loving nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Bertha was predeceased by her step-mother: Alma Kasey Lackey; brother: David Lackey, Sr.; sister: Kathy Lackey Buchanan and brother-in-law Jimmy Buchanan.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1 until 1:50 p.m. at Clearview Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow the visitation in the church sanctuary at 2 p.m.

Private burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park.
