Update: Off-premises Sunday beer, wine sales passes in Travelers Rest

With both precincts reporting, the off-premises Sunday alcohol sales referendum passes with a vote of 189-129. (Uncertified. Does not count absentee votes, if any. Results will be certified Friday.)
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — On Tuesday, Travelers Rest residents will vote on whether or not to allow for the Sunday sale of beer and wine at businesses like grocery and convenience stores.
Earlier this year, Travelers Rest City Council members approved an ordinance that places the question on the ballot.
According to the ordinance, "City Council deems it appropriate that the citizens of the city of Travelers Rest be given the opportunity to determine this important issue since it relates to the economic development and welfare of the community."
In 2013, Travelers Rest voters approved Sunday alcohol sales for on-premises sales.
