Mobile home destroyed in Greenville County fire

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A fire destroyed a mobile home Tuesday afternoon in the 1000 block of Old Hwy. 25 in northern Greenville County.

Glassy Mountain firefighters responded to the scene near the intersection of Old Settlement Road around 4:30 p.m.  A River Falls FD tanker was called in to assist firefighting efforts.

Initial radio reports indicated that a handicapped person was trapped in the home at the time of the fire, but all occupants were able to get out of the structure. There were reports of one minor injury.

The Red Cross was assisting the displaced residents.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
