Medical Group of the Carolinas opens practice in Travelers Rest

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Medical Group of the Carolinas, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s physician group, has opened a new practice in Travelers Rest.

MGC—Family Medicine—Mountain Park, located at 135 Botanical Cir., just off Hwy. 11 near the intersection of Hwy. 25.,  provides comprehensive health care for all ages.

Wayne Davis, Jr., MD, and Lauren Howard, PA, care for patients:

Wayne Davis, Jr., MD — Wayne Davis, Jr., MD, received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Coral Gables, FL. He completed his family medicine residency at Greenville Health System in Greenville, SC. Dr. Davis is a professor at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine—Carolinas in Spartanburg. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Student National Minority Association. Dr. Davis is also a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

Lauren Howard, PA — Lauren Howard, PA, received her Masters of Medical Science from the Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the South Carolina Medical Board. She is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants and Fellowship of Christian Physician Assistants. She joined Medical Group of the Carolinas in 2013.
