One person killed in Hwy. 25 crash

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 25 near Gap Creek Road on Friday morning.

According to Greenville County coroner B. Parks Evans, 23-year-old Luis Francisco Bucato, Jr., from Gatlinburg, Tenn., was a passenger in a southbound vehicle when the driver lost control and went off the right side of the roadway.

Evans said the vehicle overturned several times, ejecting Bucato and pinning him under the roof of the vehicle.

Witnesses lifted the vehicle and pulled Bucato away from the vehicle, but he died on the scene, Evans said.

Bucato was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, Evans said.
