Doris Cox, 92 - Travelers Rest
Doris Virginia Mosteller Cox, 92, of Travelers Rest and wife of the late William “Bill” Odis Cox, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Greenville Health and Rehab.
Born on July 18, 1923, in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Lucy Lee Smith and Claude Wilburn Mosteller. Mrs. Cox was a member of Clearview Baptist Church, where she used to teach Sunday School Class. She was formerly employed with Emb-Tex, Bi-Lo Supermarket of Travelers Rest, and Woodside Cotton Mill, and a member of Order of The Eastern Star.
Surviving are her daughter, Vonnie Bonta Hicks; one brother, Thomas A. Mosteller; three grandchildren, Katherine Lynn Dean, Donna Ann Cox, and Michael Renae Hicks; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Hope Dean, Deric Ray Siglin, William Reese Siglin and Callie Moss Siglin.
Mrs. Cox was also predeceased by a son, Donnie Ray Cox; five brothers, Ralph D. Mosteller, Wade L. Mosteller, Charlie A. Mosteller, W. Dewey Mosteller, and Claude Jr. Mosteller; and two sisters, Lillian L. Coker, and Shirley Elder.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Clearview Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Administrator, Zachary Wood, of Greenville Health and Rehab, and the following staff: Beth Hanley, Jonathan Duncan, Andrea Herring, Raven Walker, Christin Russell, and Asheema Davis; as well as Miranda Flemming and Keri Frazier with Patriot Hospice, for all of their generosity, compassion, and immense care that was shown during this difficult time.
The family will be at the daughter’s home.
