Travelers Rest man killed in White Horse Road wreck

GREENVILLE, S.C. — A 27-year-old Travelers Rest man was killed in a wreck involving a tanker truck early Friday morning.

Joseph Ray Bryant, of Pine Log Ford Road, was the passenger in a Dodge pickup truck that came in contact with the tractor trailer around 2 a.m. Friday, according to B. Parks Evans with the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

The crash happened at the intersection of White Horse Road and West Blue Ridge Drive.

Bryant, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, was pronounced dead at the scene, Evans said.

The driver of the pickup was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
