Gary Alan Belue Sr. 76 - Travelers Rest
Gary Alan Belue, Sr. 76, of Travelers Rest, loving husband of Martha Robinson Belue of 54 years, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016, at his home.
Born on January 19, 1940, in Rockingham, NC, he was the son of the late Cecil and Josephine Williamson Belue. From age 7 to 16, he lived in Union, SC with his grandparents, James Cleveland and Mary Ellen Williamson, who raised him. At age 16, he came back to Greenville, SC and graduated from Paris High School in 1958. He attended Clemson University, and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Belue was drafted into the 66th Signal Detachment at Travis AFB. He retired from Reynold Aluminum in 1999, after 28 years as an account manager in consumer sales, and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, golf, tennis and farming.
Along with his wife, Mr. Belue is survived by two children, Sandy Taylor and her husband Jody, and Gary Belue, Jr. and his wife Christi; one brother, Jimmy Belue and his wife Virginia; one sister, Linda Turner and her husband Boyd; one brother-in-law, Jim Latham; and four grandchildren, Will Taylor, Grayson Taylor, Laura Belue, and Jake Belue.
Mr. Belue was also predeceased by one sister, Barbara Ann Latham and one brother, Danny Belue.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at 1 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
