Travelers Rest High School Beta Club members qualify for nationals

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The Travelers Rest High School Beta Club competed at the state convention this past weekend in Myrtle Beach, with the following students earning honors:

• Justin Oates won first in English division 2;

• Arden Gillchrest won first in Social Studies division 2;

• Caroline Reese won third in Agriculture division 2; and

• Arden Gillchrest, Morgan McCauley, Nekayla McKinney, and Vera Oberg won first in Character Skit.

The students earned spots at Beta Club nationals, to take place this summer in New Orleans.

Travelers Rest High School business teacher Cassandra Brailsford serves as the Beta Club advisor. She also serves as the South Carolina State Sponsor for Beta Club.
