Chester Reece, 94 - Greenville
Chester Abraham Reece died February 23, 2016 after a full 94 years of life. Chester was a graduate of Slater-Marietta High School and served with the Marines during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He founded and operated Reece Construction Company, Inc. After retirement, Chester enjoyed many years of extensive travel and served as a commissioner for the Parker Sewer and Fire Subdistrict.
He is survived by brother Bert Reece and his wife Betty of Greenville, sister Betty Tripp of Columbia, his sons Ron (Tommie) Reece and Jerry Reece of Greenville, David (Sarah) of Louisville, Tennessee, Rick (Debi) of Towanda, KS, grandsons Gerald (Tara), Matt (Erin), Brad (Katherine) and Jason Reece, great-grandchildren Finley and Henry, and his special four-legged companion Schatzi. Chester was preceded in death by wives Elizabeth, Erika and Doris, brothers T.C., Don and Jay Reece, and two sisters, Etoliah Williams and Ruth Belcher.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 3:00-3:45 and will be followed by a celebration of Chester's life in a memorial service at 4 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
