Rev. Richard F. Burgess, 83 - Marietta

Rev. Richard F. Burgess, 83, of Marietta, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday April 10, 2016.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Purn G. and Corrine Masters Burgess. Rev. Burgess was a minister to churches, family, and community, and a member of Cox Chapel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Callie C. Anderson Bugess; children: Jerry Burgess (Grace), Danny Burgess (Niallah), Craig Burgess (Tilda), Joe Burgess (Cathy), Jane Burgess, Regina Ray (Andy); brothers: Cecil, John, Jack; sisters: Ruth, Ruby, Daisy; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers: Alvin and Dell; sisters: Maxine and a still-born sister.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:30pm until 3pm at The Howze Mortuary.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 3pm in The Howze Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Cox Chapel Baptist Church.

The family will be at their respective homes.
