75-year-old Travelers Rest woman arrested after SWAT standoff

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — A 75-year-old Travelers Rest woman is facing attempted murder charges after a SWAT team was called to her Belvue Road home on Thursday.

Greenville County deputies said they received a call just after 4 p.m. on Thursday over a property line dispute between neighbors.

Master Deputy Drew Pinciaro said that during the altercation the suspect, later identified as Anna Ruth Hall, retrieved a gun and began firing at the other property owner and two other people that were with him.

Pinciaro said the property owner's truck was hit, but the three people were able to flee the scene before calling law enforcement.

The SWAT team was activated after Hall barricaded herself inside her home. She was taken into custody without incident, Pinciaro said.

Hall is being charged with three counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
