YMCA Annual Campaign raises over $1.1 million
GREENVILLE, S.C. — YMCA of Greenville on Monday announced that a record-setting $1,116,975 was raised during a recent four-month fundraising campaign.
Each year the YMCA of Greenville Annual Campaign raises funds for those in our community seeking engaging and healthier lifestyles but are unable to pay for a Y membership or programs. Donations were contributed through the generosity of Y members and community partners with the purpose that no one with a demonstrated need is turned away from the Y because of the inability to pay.
YMCA officials said that 100 percent of the Annual Campaign donations are used locally, with the money raised at each location staying at that location. In Travelers Rest, more than $84K was raised, all of which will benefit local community members.
The fundraising results announcement was made at a recent luncheon that featured keynote speaker Pamela Peeke, MD, an internationally renowned expert in women’s health, fitness and nutrition.
