Slater-Marietta Elementary PTA president charged with embezzling $36K
SLATER-MARIETTA, S.C. — A 35-year-old Greenville County woman is accused of embezzling approximately $36K dollars from the Slater-Marietta Elementary School PTA fund.
Melissa Dawn Crain was charged with three counts of breach of trust stemming from alleged incidents that occurred from 2014 to 2016 while she was the PTA president, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said they were notified of the missing funds last month.
Crain was released from the Greenville County Detention Center on a $15,000 personal recognizance bond.
