Borgeson Universal opens Travelers Rest plant, creates 36 new jobs
TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — Borgeson Universal Company, Inc., a manufacturer of steering universal joints and components for the industrial, automotive, military and aerospace markets, recently relocated its operations to Travelers Rest, bringing a $4.5 million investment to the Upstate and leading to the creation of 36 new jobs.
Founded in 1914, Borgeson Universal moved from Connecticut and has established operations in an existing 101,500-square-foot facility at 9 Krieger Drive.
“When searching for a new home for our business, we found that South Carolina and the Travelers Rest community best fit our needs. We look forward to a successful future in Greenville County and anticipate great things in the years to come,” said Borgeson Universal Co. Vice President Alan Zordan.
“Travelers Rest is a growing and progressive community. We believe that Borgeson’s investment here demonstrates that the City of Travelers Rest is a great place to live and work,” said city of Travelers Rest Administrator Dianna Turner.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project, according to the SC Dept. of Commerce.
