49th annual Clyde Carr Charity Golf Tournament raises $6500 for local nonprofit

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. — The annual Clyde Carr Charity Golf Tournament this year raised $6,500 for the North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry.

Now in its 49th year, the tournament was held in June at Paris Mountain Country Club.

Carr presented the proceeds check to North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry during the group's recent board meeting, continuing support for the Ministry that began when it opened as a food closet in 1983.

"I am especially grateful to the sponsors and volunteers who help make this tournament a great success," Carr said, adding that without the support of the businesses and individuals in our area the fundraiser would not be possible.

North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry offers temporary assistance, including food, clothing and crisis funds, to individuals and families who live in northern Greenville County.
