Ladies Golf Benefit raises more than $40K for Cancer Society of Greenville County
GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Cancer Society of Greenville County raised more than $40K at the 17th annual Ladies Golf Benefit, held on June 6 at the Furman University golf course.
The event was presented by Homestead Hospice and included 28 ladies’ golf teams.
Over the past 16 years, the tournament has raised over a quarter of a million dollars, with all of the funds remaining in the community to help local cancer patients and their families, according to Society officials.
The Cancer Society of Greenville County has been providing services to cancer patients in our community for over 50 years. In the first six month of 2016, the organization has assisted 2000 patients with over with over 1,400 cancer prescriptions, 5,000 medical supplies and services, 4,500 medical transports and 500 hours of counseling services.
