Calvin N. Cox, 83 - Travelers Rest

Calvin N. Cox, 83, of Travelers Rest, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late J.C. Cox, Sr. and the late Thelma Nicoll Cox. Mr. Cox was a U.S. Army Veteran; one of his favorite hobbies was the Willow Farms Tree Farm; he was a Supervisor at the J.P. Stevens Slater Plant for 17 years; a home builder and broker for 18 years; the owner of Poinsett Plumbing for 30 years and a member of Renfrew Baptist Church.

Surviving are his two children, Angela and Todd Roberts and Steven and Geny Cox; four stepchildren, Donna and Bobby Foster, Chuck and Rhonda Childs, Teresa and Scott Smith and Greg Childs; 2 sisters, Callie Anderson Burgess and Leila Cox; 3 brothers, J.C and Frances Cox, Jr., Johnny and Mildred Cox and Landrum and Kathy Cox; 4 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 11 step-great grandchildren and his first wife of 33 years Martha Cox Foster.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his second wife, Rose Childs Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Renfrew Baptist Church with burial to follow at Cox Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.

The family will be at the home.
